  1. Technology: Achieving 4% to 5% Energy Savings

  • What is IGBT Technology?

    • The Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor (IGBT) is a cutting-edge power semiconductor device that merges the best features of bipolar junction transistors (BJTs) and metal-oxide-semiconductor field-effect transistors (MOSFETs). Widely embraced in the realm of power electronics, IGBTs shine in applications demanding robust voltage and current capabilities, such as motor drives, renewable energy systems, electric vehicles, and industrial equipment.
  • Benefits of Oritech’s Hybrid IGBT Inverter Design

    • Power controlled by changing frequency.
    • Power factor above 0.96 for 6 pulse, 0.97 for 12 pulse and 0.97 for 24 pulse at any load. No Chopper Circuit required.
    • Output power remains constant against line voltage fluctuation.
    • Only Active current passes through the Power device.
    • Voltage on IGBT is the same as DC bus voltage, hence no voltage stress on IGBT.
    • Current & Voltage stress on power devices is low.
    • Output short circuit proof design. Can be switched off through an inverter within 10 µs of fault detection and ruggedly works at any load condition.

 

  1. Design: Achieving 1.5% to 2.5% Energy Savings
    • Electric power loss occurs in circuits and components are controlled by Hybrid Inverter - Voltage Fed Parallel Tank Circuit Design.
    • Losses caused by power cable supplied from a variable frequency power supply to a load, usually between 2% and 7%.
    • Tank circuit path is reduced less than 1.5 mtr totally.
    • Successfully tested and supplied crucible attached capacitor bank up to 5 mt imf which saves approx. 2.5% unit/ton more.
    • We are running trials for implementation of the same technology for up to 15 mt imf. After a successful trial it will save approx. 2.5% energy more.

 

  1. Build Quality: Achieving 0.5% to 1.5% Energy Savings
    1. High grade thin sized lamination CRGO sheet to minimise energy and heat loss.
    2. Due to special arrangement of Tank Capacitor Bank, Water Cooled Leads are not required up to 350kW power to minimise power transmission and heat losses.
    3. Well researched and designed thin sized copper busbar which helps to reduce power transmission and heat losses.
    4. M/s Lapp company, well reputed German make, optical fibre cable for higher communication speed and accuracy.
    5. Silver contactor in change over switch.
    6. Heavy duty steel frame structure for longer life.
